Integrating your HID Fargo Connect (HFC) system with the ID123 ID Management System (IDMS) requires an API key. Follow the step-by-step instructions below to securely obtain your API key from HID Fargo Connect v1.11.15.751 and configure the integration with ID123’s cloud-based ID card management platform.
Why You Need an HID Fargo Connect API Key
The HID Fargo Connect API key acts as a secure authentication token that enables communication between HFC and ID123. Without an API Key, you will not be able to establish a connection between the IDMS and HFC.
Step 1: Log In to Your HID Fargo Connect Admin Portal
- Open your browser and log in to the HID Fargo Connect Admin portal.
- Navigate to the top-right corner of the dashboard.
- Click on your user profile icon and select “API Accounts” from the dropdown menu.
Step 2: Add a New API Account
On the API Accounts page, click the “Add New” button to begin setting up a new API account.
Step 3: Enter Required API Account Details
- Fill in all required fields on the Add New API Account page.
- These may include fields such as name, description, access level, and permissions.
- Once completed, click the “Save” button to create the API account.
Step 4: Access the API Account Information
- After successfully creating the account, locate your new API account in the list.
- Click the “Edit” button next to the account you just created.
Step 5: View and Copy the API Key
- On the Edit API Account Information page, click “View Key” to reveal the API key.
- Copy the API key to your clipboard.
- Paste this key into the appropriate field when setting up your integration in the ID123 ID Management System.
Once you have copied your API key, go to your ID123 IDMS dashboard and paste it in the designated field for HID Fargo Connect integrations. This will securely link your HID printer to the ID123 platform for seamless cloud-based ID card printing.
